Mara Towne’s always loved to hear people’s stories! She is a strong communicator who doesn’t shy away from difficult topics which is why she is passionate about treating patients with chronic pain conditions. TMI? Bring it on! She specializes in pelvic floor conditions, TMJ dysfunction and orthopedic manual therapy.
Mara combines her love for communication with strong hands on treatment skills which she initially developed as a massage therapist and has honed with continuing education courses as a PT. She wants to know what you want to get back to doing and partner with you to figure out how to make that happen. Furthermore, together with you she is keen on finding the root cause of your pain or lack of mobility. This is why she completed Clinical Mentorship in the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) through Learn with Diane Lee which teaches therapists to treat the patient as a whole instead of one body part.
Educating the community about physical therapy’s role in managing chronic pain conditions is a driving force in Mara’s life. Prior to joining the Physical Therapy Specialists team she developed the Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Program at Denver Health Hospital and spoke at Grand Rounds lecturing to primary care physicians about pelvic health physical therapy. She thoroughly enjoys being an active participant in the community and is excited to become more involved in the Centennial area.
Mara graduated from University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012. She has also completed Clinical Mentorship in the Integrated Systems Model (ISM) through Learn with Diane Lee which teaches therapists to treat the patient as a whole instead of one body part.
She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2010 and a member of the APTA’s Section on Women’s Health since 2010 as well. Mara wants her patients to feel comfortable asking her any questions they might have. You can email her at email@example.com.
Mara is very happy that she and her husband, Dylan, bought a home in Centennial! They love taking family walks with their twins, William and Adeline and their dogs, Nina and Winston.
